Cycling apparels are not the only important factor to be considered in cycling. Yes, wearing the proper cycling wear gives you that comfortable ride but there’s another thing that contributes a great deal to your performance: bike gears.
With the proper bike or mountain bike gear, your cycling experience is heightened and optimized. Proper bike or mtb gear selection varies on different types of terrain and on different types of persons too. Gears also help maintain the preferred cadence of the rider.
Cadence is the number of pedal revolutions per minute and is commonly known as rpm. Your cadence depends on what you are comfortable with and leg burns should also be minimized.
Leg burns happen when the muscle works hard and a lot of tension and strain are already applied to it. This is when lactic acids are created and will eventually accumulate. The lactic acid then flows to your muscles thus creating a burning sensation. Being able to feel this is a big discomfort and no-no. The right cadence reduces the accumulation of lactic acids and it also washes out the lactic acids that are already in your system so you can endure and stand longer rides.
One way of knowing what your cadence is by counting accurately the number of times you pedal over a watch set to one minute. It may vary every time you ride out and you can’t afford to always check on it but you can set your cadence, ride out, observe and then assess. By the end of a week, you can get the average range of your cadence and most likely, you will no longer feel any discomfort at all.

If you’re a newbie on mountain biking, you would want to have the best and complete set of accessories that all bikers have. You want to have the proper cycling apparel to go with your bike to provide you with that ultimate mountain biking experience. For you to be able to have that, it is best to own the most basic things.
Mountain Bike Helmets are the most important accessory any biker can have. It protects your head from falling debris and it can even save your life in cases of accidents and the like.
Mountain Bike Clothing consists of the proper bike shorts which have comfortable pads in them to help ease out the riding effects. Cycling shirts are also a must for they keep you cool and dry. For colder days, mountain jerseys also come in handy.
Mountain bike Gloves are given less importance but they can actually help big time. Gloves can save your hands from brutal beating as a result of gripping the handlebars. They also protect your hands when you fall off your bikes.
Mountain bike shoes depend greatly on the type of terrain you want to tackle. Most shoes however are durable, strong and have stiff soles to make pedaling easier and efficient.
Sunglasses help protect the eyes from dust or any particle that can come contact with your eyes due to the wind.
With the right cycling wear and the basic accessories, you are all set to go on your first mountain biking experience.

Cycling isn’t an easy game. You have to be prepared before you face the challenges head on. Without it, you’d be completely lost.
The preparations go as basic as choosing the right bike gear for you. You have to get one that will fit the kind of terrain you’d most likely travel. You must also check the materials used on the frames, aerodynamics, the number of gears and of course, the weight.
Next on the list would be the cycling wear. You have to make sure you are at ease and comfortable with the cycling shirts, shorts or cycling jerseys that you’re wearing. You will be in them a long time so any discomfort is a big no-no.
For training, it is advisable to drive at normal speed for a longer period of time. This will improve your cycling and help in toning your muscles as well.
Look out for your health. Make sure you are eating healthy foods and not much soda. Vegetables are highly recommended. Sleep also helps a great deal so make sure you get 8 hours of sleep every night.
Cycling is a sport that helps one’s physical state as well as the mental state. With the right gear, clothing, exercise, food and training, cycling will bring as much benefit as any other workouts can bring. Cycling is a sport and a healthy regimen all rolled in one.
