Cycling Do’s and Don’ts

Cycling is a favorite exercise or sport by many. Many are intrigued and interested to try it out. If you are one of them, you must read this before you attempt. Here are some do’s and don’ts in terms of cycling apparel:

Do’s:
-    Wear a cycling helmet. A good and well-fitted helmet can save your life.
-    Wear cycling jerseys that will keep the sweat off you. Choose one that has back pockets where you can store food, money and other necessary items. Also choose one that can be zipped so you can just unzip whenever it gets too hot.
-    Wear bright-colored jerseys or cycling shirts for other drivers to see you.
-    Wear cycling shorts that are comfortable and can make you endure long hours of cycling. Choose those that have chamois to reduce chaffing.
-    Wear cycling shoes that fit you perfectly because you will be spending a lot of time in them and you can’t risk any discomfort.
-    Wear glasses to protect your eyes from bugs, wind and the sun.

Don’ts:
-    Wear tight-fitting jeans. They become uncomfortable after some time and become heavy when soaked in water from the rain.
-    Wear flip-flops or shoe where the heels are not covered.
-    Wear earrings in cold conditions for they tend to freeze your ears.

Like any other sports, cycling requires the right attire to ensure safety and comfort at all times. With the proper cycling wear, you’re on your way to becoming the world’s next renowned cyclist.
